Mistubishi Motors Corporation Announces Fiscal Year 2011 First Quarter Result

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 23, 2011 - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation recently announced its sales and financial results for the first quarter of the 2011 fiscal year ending March 31, 2012.

1. Performance overview Mitsubishi Motors posted consolidated net sales of 431.9 billion yen for the first quarter of fiscal 2011 (April 1 through June 30, 2011), a seven percent or 28.2 billion yen increase over the same period last fiscal year.

This increase was driven by a higher unit sales volume resulting from market growth chiefly in emerging markets as well as the introduction of new models.

Mitsubishi Motors posted an operating profit of 12.2 billion yen, an improvement of 16.7 billion yen over the same period last fiscal year. The improvement was made possible through mainly by higher net sales, together with other factors such as reductions in materials and other costs, which more than offset the negative impact of the strong yen.

Mitsubishi Motors posted an ordinary profit of 10.3 billion yen, an improvement of 16.1 billion yen, and posted a net profit for the term of 4.3 billion yen, an improvement of 16.1 billion yen over the same period last fiscal year.

2. Sales volume Global retail sales volume in the first quarter of fiscal 2011 totaled 267,000 units, an increase of 16 percent or 37,000 units over the same period last fiscal year. Sales volumes by region were as follows:

In Japan, Mitsubishi Motors posted a sales volume of 34,000 units, a decrease of 11 percent or 4,000 units over the same period last year. Factors behind the lower volume include a drop in demand following the ending of the eco-car subsidies in September last year coupled with effects from the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In North America, Mitsubishi Motors posted a sales volume of 31,000 units, an increase of 51 percent or 10,000 units over the same period last year. The factors contributing to this substantial increase include higher sales in the United States which stemmed mainly from the launch of the Outlander Sport in October last year.

In Europe, Mitsubishi Motors posted a sales volume of 64,000 units, an increase of 39 percent or 18,000 units over the same period last year. Wally Edgar Chevrolet and the 2011 Avalanche

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 22, 2011 - This week, we're in Chevrolet's 2011 Ava 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 lanche LTZ, a sporty workhorse capable of 21-mpg highway thanks to a 5.3 liter Flex Fuel V8 with Active Fuel Management (AFM). Flex Fuel allows owners the option of burning either gasoline or an 85-percent ethanol/15-percent gas mix. I'm a little down on Ethanol these days, and hope that the car industry takes a serious look at Compressed Natural Gas for our future fuel needs.

Our tester came ready for some serious off-roading fun, complete with the heavy duty 4WD Autotrac 2-speed transfer case with locking rear. However, this heavy duty setup still doesn't hinder Chevy engineers from delivering 20-plus MPG highway from a powerful 325-inch "LS" series V8 that delivers 320-horses and 335-torque.

Notable is the AFM, defined as an ability to deactivate four of the eight cylinders to conserve fuel while seamlessly bringing back the "extra four" when necessary. Also new since we last tested an Avalanche (2007) is an aluminum 6-speed transmission, another fuel mileage plus as our prior Avalanche with just 2WD underpinnings returned just 15 city and 20 highway with a heavier 4-speed automatic. If you bought a 4WD in 2007, EPA numbers were just 14 and 19, respectively and the use of Ethanol lowers MPG numbers even more although it ups power ratings - your Chevy dealer will explain.

Avalanche has been a popular vehicle for Chevy since its 2002 introduction. Built on the same 130-inch wheelbase platform as sibling Suburban, Avalanche differs by combining the best of a full-size Silverado pickup with the passenger attributes of a Chevy Tahoe; and it's all done with a flip or a few release locks and a pull on the novel midgate system.

The current generation styling, which debuted in 2007, is much improved versus the first generation as there are no longer any protruding fender claddings. Overall, Avalanche offers a more elegant theme throughout and a front end that shares resemblance to the bigger Chevy SUVs. As for previous owners, they can take solace that Chevy doesn't trash an otherwise very impressive design with new generations that date the older ones.

With room for five full size adults, Avalanche boasts a 5-foot 3-inch cargo bed that can handle most needs. However, when a trip to the home improvement center demands hauling 4x8-sheets, Avalanche fills the bill with the midgate. Specifically, the rear seats fold down and the midgate folds forward resulting in an 8-foot bed that can carry cargo either covered or exposed. To expose the bed, owners can remove the bed cover, take out the rear window and allow for taller items like an ATV or dirt bike. Back window removal is also easy, making the novel Avalanche fun to own with numerous options available for hauling.

Inside, you'll enjoy all the advantages of passenger comfort ala Tahoe and Suburban's first two rows of seating, in this case full leather. Since LTZ is the premier Avalanche, you'll enjoy extended bmw M5 specification amenities heretofore only offered in the finest of luxury cars. From 12-way driver and passenger seats to dual zone air conditioning, there is little left to the imagination in the LTZ class Avalanche. And, unlike our 2007 tester, which added $10,510 in options, just about everything available from Chevy comes standard on the LTZ, including heated leather seats, power adjustable pedals, navigation system, 20-inch polished wheels, all expected safety equipment, traction cont 2011 Dodge Durango R / T rol, and over 30 other standard features. As for the driving experience, Avalanche is ready for anything in its way thanks to Chevy's aforementioned 4WD system. The highway ride mimics that of a fine road worthy cruiser, while a turn onto the desert or an off-road adventure finds Avalanche at home with the elements. Included in the price are a three piece cargo cover, power lo mustang car cking gate, underbody full size spare, ultrasonic rear park assist, solar ray tinted glass and much more.

The 429 Horsepower 2012 Hyundai Genesis R-Spec Sedan - Gartner Hyundai Reviews

All kidding aside, though, the Genesis R-Spec is definitely a joy to drive. The R-Spec provides a nice balance between the smooth, soft ride of a Luxury Sedan and that of a performance based vehicle, whether that car be a coupe or sedan.   The Genesis sedan, with all 429 horses, delivers Power (yes a capital P) whenever the driver demands.  0-60mph, 35-55 mph, or for those speed demons, 65mph to "Infinity and Beyond"....  OK, maybe a slight exageration on the last one, but oh well, just trying to get a point across.  

Contrastly, even though the R-Spec delivers more than ample power, this luxury sedan from Hyundai hasn't forgotten its roots. The overall ride of the Genesis R-Spec is right on p first drive audi a6 ar (if not above) with the competition.  When driving at a normal pace, the Genesis seems to glide seemlessly over the road, exterior noise is virtually non-existent, and the driver and p 2011 Dodge Durango R / T assenger seats literally welcome its occupants like a concierge at a 5-star hotel.

Cal's Auto Pros Warns about Flushing Coolant System in Cars and Trucks

Hendrick Automotive Group to Help Fund Middle School Sports

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 03, 2011 - A $250,000 sponsorship agreement with Hendrick Automotive Group will allow Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to offer a complete program of middle school sports for the 2011-12 academic year.

The sponsorship agreement designates HendrickCars.com as an official sponsor of CMS athletics, which offers opportunities for more than 16,000 middle and high school students.

The agreement gives the company naming rights of statistics announced during breaks at high school athletic events; recognition as a title partner in announcements at the end of high school events; and signage that will be displayed at middle and high school athletic events. CMS and Hendrick Automotive Group will explore options for additional promotions, automobile news and the arrangement will not change any existing partnership agreements between individual schools' booster clubs and other organizations.

CMS will use the sponsorship money to help pay coaching stipends, fees for officials and transportation costs for middle school athletics. Students must still pay some sports-participation fees, introduced by CMS for all goverment technology middle and high school student-athletes last year.

"As someone who participated in sports growing up and has kids who played, I understand the impact those experiences can have on young people," said Rick Hendrick, chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group.
